Newly opened shop Beckett Boutique is a breath of fresh of air on Upper King Street. The area usually known for the lively bar and restaurant scene, is now a thriving shopping district. Owners Chelsea and Kristen have been planning their boutique for years and always had their eyes set on Upper King because of the more local vibe. Located across from Marion Square, the elegant and hip space designed by Randolph Cooper is a modern mix of clothing and accessories for the woman that wants to be both current and classic. Stocking up exclusive labels such as Elizabeth & James, Viktoria + Woods, Nocturne, Rebecca Minkoff, 3×1, Cristina V, Holst + Lee, and Le Specs, they are bringing a sophisticated edge to Charleston.
This weekend they’ll be hosting a Cristina V. Jewelry trunk show at their store from 12-5pm on Saturday. Swing by to meet the ladies and shop or peruse the racks and shelves of gorgeous merchandise.

A couple of weeks ago I attended a fun blogger retreat hosted by Freshfields Village in Kiawah. I arrived to the newly opened boutique hotel, the Andell Inn and had a moment to settle in before the event started. In my very cozy and spacious room there was huge gift bag stuffed with all kinds of goodies from all the local shops located in the Village. Sitting next to the bag was my picture of me in a blog post I had just done the day before along with the sweetest note from the staff at the hotel. This personalized welcome was so touching and showed how everyone involved really went out of their way to make me feel special.
When I met up with the other bloggers I saw some familiar faces and got the chance to finally meet a couple I had been following on Instagram. I love the power of social media and how you know someone before you even meet them.
The delicious food and drinks were flowing and the presentation was beautiful!
The evening consisted of a private shopping event in select stores such as The Resort Shop, Lilly Pulitzer, J. McLaughlin, Roberta Roller Rabbit, and Holly and Brooks. We were greeted by a glass of Presecco and yummy desserts in each store.
Trying on clothes an goofing off with these girls kept the evening going. With everyone’s busy schedule and half of us being moms it’s hard to get all of these ladies in one place at the same time! I’m so happy we could all connect and spend some time together.
Bloggers from left to right: Tara of Northen Lights – Southern Belles, Erin of High Heels and Two Wheels, Venita Aspen, Annie Reeves, Ashley of Sweet Southern Prep, Chloe of Top Knots & Polka Dots, Caycee of Hanging with the Hewitts, Natalie of Designer Bags and Dirty Diapers, Bethany of B Soup, and Dannon of Like the Yogurt
I’m so grateful I can experience moments like this as a blogger, and beyond thankful that Freshfields Village invited me to be a part of this fun event! My only regret was not being able to enjoy my hotel room and amenities longer, I had to rush back to Charleston the next day to get back to my boys.
Big props to Kip Bulwinkle of Karson Photography for capturing all of the moments!

The fall lineup of Taxidermy is an eclectic, chic, colorful, and luxurious collection of accessories made of exotic skins. The designer of the lust worthy line, Amy Watcher Driggers, recently moved to Charleston and is excited to have her business based in the south where her accessory line has exploded. Style icons such as Beyonce, Kylie Jenner, and Kourtney Kardashian have been spotted wearing her custom python converse sneakers called The Luxe Chucks, and now the world is taking notice. With a new bag and color combo coming out it seems every week, Taxidermy is the unstoppable force in independent high end luxury accessories.
Finding a location to shoot the undeniably chic collection was a no brainer. The newly openedGrand Bohemian Charleston in the heart of downtown Charleston is the trendy boutique hotel that has the whole town buzzing. The hip hotel features the on-site Grand Bohemian Gallery, a wine blending and tasting room, specialty coffee shop, and a rooftop restaurant and terrace with scenic views of historic Charleston. Two worlds of luxuries collided on this photo shoot resulting in beautiful imagery that make a lasting impression.
