In Bloom With agnès b.

Recently I partnered up with the iconic French Lifestyle brand agnès b. for their “I Love Flowers” spring debut. The collection features pictures of flowers taken by Agnès in Paris, Louveciennes, Antibes,  Brittany and New York.  Some of these blooming beauties are also native to Charleston, so I thought it would be fun to feature the same flowers that can found here as well.

There’s no doubt that Springtime in Charleston boasts some of the most beautiful scenery in the south.  Cherry Blossoms, Magnolias, Hydrangeas, Camellias, Roses are just some of the plants that are featured in the agnès b. collection and can be seen everywhere in Charleston.  The dress that I’m wearing is a print of Pink Lilac’s which looked so similar to Wisteria.  I couldn’t resist a picture in front of this massive Wisteria that was hanging on the gates at a historical house downtown.

Although agnès b. is primarily known as a French brand, she has been designing clothing for men, women, and children since the mid 70’s and has over a 100 stores around the world.  Her classic clothing with a streetwear sensibility is timeless.  Her striped t-shirt and snap cardigans that she created in the 70’s are still relevant in today’s fashion. Her passion of photography translates into her screen printed collections over the past 2 decades.

The Port Essentials

The Port Mercantile at The Restoration Hotel is my little shopping gem.  This charming boutique  stocks gifts, mementos, accessories, artsy books, magazines, and even artisanal food and drinks.  Just when you think the shopping couldn’t get any better in Charleston, this modern day mercantile elevates the scene.

The carefully curated selection of men’s and women’s jewelry is unique, modern, and refreshing to see in this town.  The overwhelming sweet scents are compliments of the rare perfumes and exquisite candles.  One of my favorites is the Indigo candle that was custom made for the shop.  The romantic musky scent was created by creative director Cory Ingram and is packaged in a indigo hand-dyed pouch by local designer Leigh Magar.

This gift shop brings you that local flavor with goodies from Callie’s Biscuits and shirts and sweatshirts from The Bad Bitches.

The biggest splurge would be the custom Lorenzo Martone bikes you can rent or buy.  Talk about riding in style!

The Amethyst Spa right next door is one of the few places below Calhoun to get a manicure.  With a great selection of polishes including Chanel, you can’t go wrong.

It seems like a new store pops up every other week in Charleston these days.  What makes this new store Redefined so different is that they specialize in designer consignment and vintage. Owners Heather Martinez and Jamie Boehmer opened up their Church Street location just a few weeks ago and are enjoying their off the beaten path location.  Located in the French Quarter area the shop is nestled just above Broad Street.

Some of their featured brands are Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Tom Ford, Valentino, Oscar de la Renta, Chanel, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Chloe, Pucci, and Armani. These labels are surprisingly hard to find in Charleston and now you can scoop them up at Redefined for a fraction of the cost.

They are also carrying one of a kind jewelry by Ash Hoffman who is based in Myrtle Beach and was the winner of Jtv’s Rockstar Designer competition. Her collection of hammered silver accessories combine an organic and modern vibe.

Join me this Saturday, April 9th 6-8pm for the Grand Opening of Redefined boutique at 113 Church Street.  Fashion Illustrator Daniel Velasco will be there as well painting his whimsical custom portraits, and drinks and light bites will be served.

Boudoir Goals

Getting to stay at the chic Restoration Hotel  during Charleston Fashion Week a couple of weeks ago was a dream come true.  My hectic schedule was filled with trunk shows, photoshoots, judging commitments, on top of my usual blogging and social media duties.  Having a home base downtown this year made a world of difference and gave me piece of mind.

The beauty of The Restoration is that every room is a suite so you instantly feel like your at home, but a more luxurious version of that. Each room is stocked with an Ipad, Smart TV, and and a mini bar that’s stocked with delicious munchies including local favorite Callie’s Biscuits.

And let’s talk about this bed.  The massive King size bed piled up with the softest pillows made it easy to crash in and hard to get out of in the morning.

You can tell every little detail was thought of in every inch of the space.  One of my favorites was the vintage typewriter with a note from the owners saying “Dear Guest, Welcome to The Restoration.  We look forward to re-creating history together.  Warm regards, The Andersons”

Lace robe by Hanky Panky $140 and Silk Chemise by Andres $147 from Bits of Lace //  Pave diamond, sapphire & enamel pinwheel pendant on oxidized chain $495 and Pave diamond triangle earrings $360 by Theodosia // 14k Blue Topaz ring $1,200 and 14k Amethyst and Diamond ring $1,050 from Gold Creations
