Coastal Life

The experience at Wild Dunes Resort continues with our fun filled Saturday night.  First we dove into a delicious dinner at Coastal Provisions, a restaurant located in the Boardwalk Inn.  Dining al fresco is my favorite way to experience a meal, especially when you live on the coast.  We got a primo table near the pool and sipped on signature cocktails and noshed on a delectable coastal fare.

The seafood focused menu is packed with ingredients that are both locally and regionally sourced.  The Tuna Poke was so fresh and the accents of tamari, benne seed, chili garlic sauce green onion, and avocado was mouth watering.

Not a bad view over here.

We had to try the oyster platter because that’s just what you do at Coastal Provisions.  I never get sick of slurping down those oysters. Chef Read Wolfe surprised us with a local mushroom appetizer with micro greens, radish, and breadcrumbs that had the perfect balance of texture and taste.

Afterwards we took a walk on the beach as the sun set.  The powder blue, pink, and lavender sky always looks like a water color painting to me.  I’m convinced we have the prettiest sunsets in the world.  Because it’s the end of the summer, we had most of the beach to ourselves.  I’m a Folly Beach girl, but it’s so nice to experience the Isle of Palms.  I love seeing all the pretty pastel houses on our walk.   As my boys ran around the beach, I reflected on what a great time we were having at Wild Dunes Resort.  It’s so important to take the time out and enjoy life, especially when it’s right in your backyard.

My little Sebastian didn’t let his broken arm get in the way of his good times.

We capped the evening by making s’mores by the fire pit.  Located right downstairs from our hotel room at The Village, this is where most people end their night.  When we saw our complimentary S’mores kits waiting for us in our hotel room we knew we would be in for a treat.  My boys have been bugging me to make S’mores all summer, and I’m so happy we finally did it.  This is glamping at it’s best!
