The Island Life with Spartina 449

A girl can never have too many accessories right?  Well, new store and local-ish brand Spartina 449 is giving you more reason to stock up on stylish accessories at great prices.  The ever-evolving brand has an extensive jewelry and bag line and has spanned into apparel and stationary.  I was so excited to pick up this bag, bangles, necklace, and earrings at their new King Street store during Charleston Fashion Week.

The brand launched back in 2009 by Kay Stanley who lives in a seaside cottage located on the quaint island of Daufuskie. The Island is only accessible by boat between Hilton Head, SC and Savannah, GA, which means they’ve kept their laid back & local way of life well preserved.  Spartina 449 has been named one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S. with 5 signature stores from Savannah, Bluffton, Highlands, NC, and their newest edition in Charleston.  You can also find their line in specialty boutiques nationwide including Woodhouse Day Spa in Mt. Pleasant.  Their King Street store is beautifully laid out with so many bags, baubles, and pretty stationary that’s it’s easy to play dress up and stock up on gifts.

One of their most popular features is that you can get a custom monogram on your bag. I had to of course get CSC for Charleston Shop Curator.  This is now my go to bag when I need to travel light with just my phone and keys, the perfect bag for a girl on the go!

I love it when brands give back to their community and Spartina 449 does exactly that.  They donate a portion of their proceeds to the Daufuskie Island Historical Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to education, scientific discovery and charity to preserve the cultural heritage of Daufuskie.

This beautiful porch designed by Catherine M. Austin with pillow accents by The Blush Label does look like it could be on an island, but it’s actually the Charleston Symphony Orchestra Designer League Showhouse at 36 Society in downtown Charleston.  More on this gem tomorrow!
