When did you open? The shop opened as Vieuxtemps around 2005. Before that it was called Brittian’s a Charleston  staple for all things wedding registry. Mrs Brittian still owns the building and I worked for the owner of Vieuxtemps for 3 years before purchasing the shop almost 2 years ago now-I feel honored to be a part of such a wonderful local legacy!

What do love about owning your own business? In the 2 years I have stepped in the ownership role, I have learned so much from my clients and developed lasting relationships with inspiring and loyal customers. One of my favorite things about owning Vieuxtemps is being able to provide a space and collection that can help brighten someone’s day. We are, at the heart, a gift shop and knowing that our special products are going out into the world to bring a smile to someone’s face is truly an exciting thing for me.

What’s your favorite thing about the holidays? Oh! Where do I start!?! Everything! Anyone that knows me knows that I love a reason to celebrate. Whether it is wearing a flower crown for the First Day of Spring or pouring mimosas for Mother’s Day-there is always something special about each day! So during this festive time of year, I feel like everyone is on the same page. – there is that anxious excitement and holiday spirit in the air that is contagious and seems to bring everyone together. Helping someone select that special, personalized gift for the most important person on their list or simply helping a client choose fun stocking stuffers and neighbors gifts helps us spread that holiday cheer we enjoy so much!
