Bohemian Rhapsody

Local jewelry designer Sarah Markusich of Simply Becoming Designs creates one of a kind jewelry inspired by Afghani nomadic tribes.  Her roots of being a belly dancer influenced these ethnic designs.  I’ve always been obsessed with tribal headpieces like this, and it’s so great to know that they can be found right here in Charleston.

Feelin’ Frida

DSC_7331 DSC_7311 DSC_7334

Mexican artist Frida Kahlo was my inspiration for this look.   This floral headpiece is just one of the many unique pieces from Treats for Tresses, the local mother and daughter team of Marylin and Tamysn Rickards.  They make hair accessories that are perfect for any Charleston wedding or festive event.  They use vintage jewelry, old lace, flowers from old hats, antique ribbons, crystal and pearl beads. For this reason, each piece is one of a kind and cannot be replicated.
