Memorial Day is just around the corner and I’m so looking forward to that 3 day weekend. A couple of weeks ago I had the chance to explore Seabrook Island and fell in love with The Beach Club. Conveniently located near Freshfields Village me and the fam did some shopping to make sure we were ready for some pool and beach action.
We stopped by Vineyard Vines to deck out the family in swimsuits. You can’t go wrong with gingham and I love the retro high waisted look. I picked up this scarf from Beija Flor to wear as a sarong, but turned it into this turban. I’m trying to grow out my bangs so this is the perfect solution for that awkward growing out phase.
Black & White Gingham Tie Front Bikini Top $65 from Vineyard Vines, Black & White High Waisted Gingham Bottom $60 from Vineyard Vines // Scarf worn as turban from Beija Flor at Freshfields Village // Sunglasses from Sunglass L.A.
Boys Marlin Out Of Water Chappy Trunks $34.99 from Vineyard Vines
Boys Pieced Chappy Trunks $55 from Vineyard Vines
My boys favorite shop in Freshfields Village is of course Wonder Works Toys. They can spend hours in there testing out all of the toys. The shop was fully stocked up on water toys and pool floats like this watermelon. Sebastian enjoyed his slice of heaven.
Sebastian was also loving this surfer girl from Wonder Works Toys. It doesn’t matter how you flip her, she always lands on her board and floats right side up.
These super light weight pants from Tina Stephens are perfect for throwing on after the beach or pool. They just opened up in in Freshfields Village and carry both their signature seamless shirts and other brands.
Follow Freshfields Village for their summer events because they always have something going on. Every Friday this summer is Music on the Green from 6-9pm, and this Friday is Java Band. They play party favorites from R&B, Hip Hop,Rock, and Motown. I know I’ll be spending a lot of time out there this summer, and I hope you get to explore the John’s Island, Kiawah, and Seabrook area too!

Last month me and my family wanted to take advantage of the beautiful marsh area in James Island for a fun holiday shoot with Jonathan Balliet. My hubby Gustavo, eldest son Mateo, and youngest Sebastian had never been in the marsh together before and we loved every minute of it. The beauty of living in James Island is that you can travel 5 minutes away from your house and feel like your in a secluded island, one with nature. I love being able to disconnect from the world, away from any devices and just bond with the people that I love, even if it’s for 30 minutes. Hopefully this holiday season everyone can do the same and take a moment to appreciate what makes you happy.
Mateo wears: mock neck pullover sweater by Cat & Jack $19.99, Slim Fit Stretch Chino $16.99 from Target // Sebastian wears: Boys’ Shawl Collar Cardigan in Grey $19.99, Boys’ Rib-Waist Straight Fit Jeans Dark Wash $12 from Target

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of staying at Wild Dunes with my family for Father’s Day, it was the ideal getaway and staycation for all of us. Anywhere that has a pool, refreshing drinks and great food is a recipe for the perfect weekend. Our first stop of course was the pool. There are 4 pools to choose from and we checked out the Boardwalk Inn pool first. The kids loved it because it had two areas with a walkway bridge that you could swim under. The cabanas are perfect to grab some shade and take a nap.
Me and my boys wore our new swimsuits by Surania, an online company that let’s you customize your swimsuits. They loved playing fashion designer by picking out their patterns and style of shorts. Sebastian has been sporting his euro mankini look all summer long!
The pool was perfectly located behind the Boardwalk Inn and led out to the boardwalk where the ice cream shop was strategically placed. We pool hopped going to the Grand Pavilion Pools next and eventually to the beach. We felt like we were thousands of miles away staying at a resort in the Caribbean, not just 30 minutes from our house.
I didn’t realize how many different places you can stay at from hotels, condos, cottages, and vacation home rentals. We stayed at The Village at Wild Dunes, where we had everything at our fingertips. They have a grocery market, The Lettered Olive restaurant, fitness center, and spa which was so convenient. At night their fire pit lights up and you can roast marshmallows while you relax in an adirondack chair.
Wild Dunes has so many activities to do you would have to stay a whole week just to take advantage of it all. From golfing, tennis, basketball, bike rentals, boat tours, kayaking, paddle boarding, jet skiing, parasailing, waterskiing, banana boats, and fishing there’s something for everyone in your family to enjoy.
I can’t believe it took me so long to experience Wild Dunes, I look forward to coming back to check out the fun events they have all year round. Stay tuned for more fun experiences as we explore the property and our delectable dinner at Coastal Provisions.
