Local photographer Sully Sullivan’s concept for the latest issue of Charlie Magazine is simple – “The State of Equality”. Everyone is equal as a human being, regardless of the color of their skin, age, sexual preference, religious beliefs, man or woman. These stunning portraits are a testament to the diversity of us as Americans, and the beautiful people right here in the South.

Library by Lauren Lail recently launched her debut collection for spring/summer 2013. It’s a whimsical, feminine, and playful line of dresses and separates. Lauren’s love of vintage was interpreted into her collection of wearable pieces. Her downtown studio features a mix of vintage clothes and accessories that Lauren has hand selected herself. Lauren Lail notes the word Library as the perfect representation of her brand – “Vintage pieces have a story to tell , they are the books that make my library; each garment chronicles stories of the past and the women who wore them.”
I’m all about this Cali surf brand, Seea that makes this striped top. It can be easily translated to a post surf look at Folly Beach. The striped earrings that I found at Ensemble Consignment Boutique were an added bonus. I love it when I find pieces that were meant to be together, sometimes I can’t resist a matchy matchy moment.

This shoot was done off a magical road in James Island near Folly Beach called Sol Legare. It’s history has been deep rooted with the Civil War, and it’s still common to find old bottles and gun shells from centuries ago. The overgrown trees and sprawling marshes were the perfect setting for an outdoors lifestyle shoot.

Summer time is my all time favorite season hands down. Just because it’s hot out there doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with coverups and accessorizing your head. This top from Beba Luxe is one of the many cute crochet things they have in stock, from dresses, skirts, to tops. The Treats for Tresses headpiece is the cherry on top. Marilyn and Tamsyn Rickards are the mother and daughter design duo behind this handmade line of one of a kind headpieces. I seriously want everything they make!
