Frida Kahlo has been a long time muse to fashion lovers like me. From the floral crowns, braided updos, bold patterns, layers, and those eyebrows. Her look is undeniably one of a kind and has inspired many. I was lucky enough to see her work in person at the Salvador Dali museum in St. Petersburg, FL. Frida is one of my favorite artists because of the beauty and depth of her art. She translated her personal struggles into vibrant self portraits that typically incorporated nature and animals.
Although Halloween might be once a year, this style can easily be incorporated into an everyday look. It all starts with the floral headpiece, and I’m lucky enough to have some talented friends. Lori DeNicola of Petaloso, designs the most gorgeous floral arrangements. No project is too big or small for this lady – from small bouquets to massive floral walls for Trunk Club to weddings, she does it all.
Layering up the jewelry is the next step. I’m lucky I get to play with the jewels at Gold Creations. This family owned local store in the Market always stock the best cocktail rings and their gates collection ranges from necklaces to these earrings and rings.
