The Gift of Giving

The holiday season is almost upon us and it’s time to start thinking where to shop.  One of my favorite Charleston boutiques to buy gifts at is Be The Change Boutique on lower King Street. When you shop with the owners Ashley & Ashleigh, know that you are making a difference in someone’s life or helping the planet because every brand they carry donates to a charity.  Their fashionable eco-conscious/sustainable/handmade merchandise covers everything from men’s, women’s, baby clothing to accessories.  I’m loving this poncho by Krochet Kids that is carried at Be The Change Boutique.  They work with highly vulnerable women living in poverty stricken regions of the world and their program empowers these women with the resources to rise above poverty.

I’m teaming up with Be The Change Boutique on Thursday for a Toy Drop & Shop benefitting MUSC Children’s Health. From 6-9pm at 218 B King Street you can shop with me and knock out some holiday gifts while you give back to children in need.  A portion of the sales of the night will be going to MUSC Children’s Health and we’re also having a toy drop accepting kid’s board games, card games for kid’s, Hot Wheels cars, and 8 inch plastic baby dolls and accessories. To make sure your not starving or thirsty, Jim N’ Nicks will be serving up their southern goodness while The Cocktails Bandits whip up some spiked sweet tea.  Be The Change Boutique‘s neighbor Texture Design Co. will also be open late too.  The cute studio next door is filled with whimsical Charleston prints, stationary, bags, and mugs designed by owner Emily Kirby.

The button up shirt is from Shirtini which is just a block away from Be The Change Boutique.  This is your go to shop for women’s dress shirts, which is essential for any wardrobe.  This faux suede one by Claridge & King is the perfect fall-winter dress shirt. I love this bag by Dewdrop Designs, and I think most people would agree with me.  I’ve spied the same one at Noddy Charleston, which is also down the street in the Lower King Street area.

I’m obsessed with this quartz ring from Gold Creations, it’s both modern and mystical.  The earrings are designed after the gates of Charleston, the perfect gift for someone who appreciates the beauty that surrounds them.

If you need more gift ideas, then don’t miss out on my holiday gift segment on Lowcountry Live Friday, November 18th at 10am. I’ll be featuring local boutiques Be The Change Boutique, Open Door Shop, Lulu Burgess, and Distil Union.
