My favorite summertime jewels that I’ve been sporting on the blog lately are by Charleston designer Kate Davis. A former dive instructor and marine biologist, Kate tapped into her creative side and launched her sea inspired jewelry line over a decade ago. She incorporates natural materials derived from the ocean such shells, shark teeth, abalone, mother of pearl, mixed with semi-precious stones set in her signature hammered gold. Her collection is endless with hundreds of designs and she hand makes everything in her James Island studio. Kate Davis is an incredible one woman show and juggles being a mom, which I can relate to and respect. Her designs have even graced the pages of numerous Sport Illustrated Swimsuit issues many times. Whether you wear her beachy jewels layered and stacked or feature one statement piece, you instantly feel like a summer goddess.
