Kiawah seems to be the last frontier in the Charleston area to have a fitness studio. But now there’s no excuse to get in shape with the newly opened Studio 33 in Freshfields Village. Founded by husband and wife team Frank and Liz, they offer everything from pilates, barre, yoga and so much more. Their beautiful modern space is refreshing and when you walk in your immediately sucked into their amazing selection of athleisure. But this isn’t your average work out gear, you can go from studio to street looking put together with their impressive selection. They carry super stylish brands from Lululemon, Onzie, Michi, Spiritual Gangster, and Koral Activewear.
They turned me on to Michi, the brand that makes this snakeskin printed top. From the front to the back, the details are on point. The yoga pants are by Onzie, the brand that dominates the largest styles I’ve seen from prints, fabrics, and fits.
Liz who is also a yoga teacher takes so much pride in her studio and the classes that are being taught there. She already has a loyal tribe of teachers and followers. Normally I like doing yoga core and really pushing myself, but I opted for a gentle yoga class. Kimi, the teacher, made sure we had the most zen experience. That’s why I love yoga – you can go hard, but you can also make it an experience to calm your mind and feel more balanced mentally and physically. The studio has all of the yoga accoutrements in case you forget your mat and they event have blankets that you can snuggle up in for savasana.
Studio 33 also offers so much more than their regular studio classes. You can also get health & nutrition coaching, private yoga & personal training, and you can even book them for a private bachelorette or weekend getaway.
Freshfields Village always does a great job incorporating their stores like Studio 33 by hosting a group yoga session on the lawn. This month their gearing up for a line up of more fun events for the whole family to enjoy. The weekend kicks off with a special edition of Music on the Green tonight from 6-9 pm. Then on Saturday there’ll be more music while the Farmer’s Market will be in full swing and a pop up art show from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. There’s always something for the kiddies with the complimentary face painting by Cupcake and Company Children’s Entertainment, specialty balloons with Carol’s Balloon Art, inflatable games from Charleston Fun Factory, fall crafts and a meet & greet with St. Johns Fire Department.
If your a dog lover then you’ll want to join them for their 11th Annual Dogtoberfest on Saturday, October 28 from 1-5 pm. In addition to craft beer, food, live music, pet costume contest, Blessing of the Dogs, and giveaways, it’s all for a great cause.
