The fashion marathon begins tomorrow with Charleston Fashion Week. Tuesday – Saturday several shows will be walking down the runway every night. In it’s 10th year, the tradition continues with local boutiques having a strong presence on the runway. The retail scene is growing strong and it’s always nice to see a mix of new shops with the more established stores that represent Charleston’s new identity.
Tuesday, March 15th
Bits of Lace always kicks off the 1st round of shows on the opening night. The well established lingerie store will be collaborating with TAXIDERMY accessories and Shoes on King for a colorful and sexy show of intimates and accessories that pack a punch.
Ibu will debut a brand new collection of global glam clothing and accessories paired with Brother Vellies shoes. This 1 year old store on Lower King is making major waves locally and nationally with no stop in sight.
Trés Carmen is the James Island based boutique that carries sought after brands that the locals are shopping for. They’re mix of casual everyday wear and cocktail dresses gives the ladies plenty of options.
Mt. Pleasant based boutique 7Gypsy is your destination for everything boho chic. From floral maxi dresses to fringe everywhere, the shop stocks up clothing and accessories for your inner gypsy.
Wednesday, March 16th
Lake City based boutique Mosaic is just a hop, skip, and a jump from Charleston. They stock up on fashion forward women’s clothing and accessories that rival any big city boutique.
National brand Ike Behar has been outfitting well dressed men everywhere for decades. Their Charleston outpost offers classic tailoring for the distinguished gentleman.
MOSA Boutique which is located on Upper King, stocks up on contemporary men’s and women’s clothing. Modern silhouettes and on-trend clothing is their main staple as well as offering some of the hottest accessories in town.
Friday, March 18th
New kid on the block, Beckett Boutique recently opened last fall but is quickly making a name for themselves. Always offering a fresh color palate with up and coming brands, their chic shop embodies the modern woman.
Charleston’s only local department store, Gwynn’s of Mt. Pleasant offers everything under the sun. They maintain a wide variety of clothing and accessories for men and women with their frequent buying trips to NYC.
Saturday, March 19th
House of Sage is the go to shop downtown for trendy looks that won’t break the bank. Their boho vibe mixed with streetwear will keep you hip all year round.
