I really enjoy contributing to Skirt Magazine’s monthly issues. The October issue was especially fun to style because I had the opportunity to dress a very talented group of Charleston artists as the muses of their own paintings. I loved working with Lauren Jones and her concept of matching the artists with their art.
Both Carrie Beth Waghorn and Sarah Stewart center their art around the female goddess. Whether it’s celebrating their beauty or power, women are the center of their inspiration.
Jenan McClain pours her heart and soul into her paintings that are inspired by Charleston landscapes and flowers. The colors and textures of her work remind me of a classic Monet painting.
Camela Guevara’s work as a fiber artist and painter represents femininity through her color palette and texture.
Katherine Dunlap’s art is inspired by old family photos. The vibrant colors come alive through her work.
